The Blueshape MVQUICK Hotswap is a system used as a battery interface between the camera (or any other V-lock compatible device) and the battery pack.
The main purpose of a hotswap plate is to allow the camera battery replacement without any power interruption, through an automatic detection of the battery’s removal.
Additionally, MVQUICK provides an alternative power source of about 21Wh to be used as UPS in case of a sudden power failure or extended power requirements.
Installation
The MVQUICK hotswap plate is installed as an interface between the battery and the device to power. The plate locks onto the camera’s V-lock and the battery then plugs into the MVQuick.
During normal operation, the battery continues to power the camera. The MVQUICK continually monitors the battery and provides an immediate takeover if needed.
When the battery is removed or its output ceases or drops (with voltage below 13V) the MVQUICK provides instantaneous power to the camera.
This means there is absolutely no interruption to the power reaching the camera.
As soon as MVQUICK starts to operate, the LEDs light up indicating the state of the available internal power. This alerts the operator to the fact that the battery need to be changed.
Use as UPS
In case of emergency, MVQUICK hotswap plate can even be used as a stand alone power source (21Wh available when fully charged).
It provides around 10~15 minutes of further runtime even in use with power hungry devices.
During all this time the LEDs remain lit.
When a new battery is installed (with battery voltage > 14V), MVQUICK turns off automatically leaving the battery to power the device.
Power Use.
The energy lost by MVQUICK to sustain the camera during the battery swap operation is automatically and silently replenished from the fresh battery without affecting the operation. This process allows unlimited hot-swap operations and practically a continuous power source. In case of need, MVQUICK can be quickly charged on any V-Lock charger as a normal battery.
